I always hear that tobacco smokers have a greater risk of developing many different dental and mouth problems. I realize that smoking stains the teeth brownish yellow and causes bad breath(besides causing many serious diseases), but how exactly does it lead to tooth problems like causing cavities and gum disease? Please note, I am a non-smoker, but some people in my family smoke. Does the same go for marijuana smokers, or only tobacco smokers?

I’ve called a few, but they either don’t list my dentist, or don’t offer plans to Louisiana. I had Assurant at my old job, but they don’t offer individual plans in LA. My new job has Blue Cross, but doesn’t offer dental…Help?

I had my 31 tooth pulled last month and my dentist is pushing me to get a titanium screwed in implant. It is the last tooth on lower jaw. The one on the other side needs to be pulled as well. The implants are expensive. The base is running me about 1200 and the crown will be about the same (my insurance will cover the crown but it maxes out at a 1000).
I am wondering if I even need it. I am eating just fine without it. I have been reading that a full lower teeth replacement only includes 24 teeth which is what I would have left after the two bottom are pulled.
He showed me this video he has where it shows the remaining teeth you have falling out like dominos if you don’t get this. Does this really happen or is this a rare case?
I am seeing the specialist for a consult today, but I am sure he will say the same thing. Sometimes, I think some dentist are more salesman that dentist (atleast that is how I feel about mine).

we just got dental health insurance and on it it says it covers for amalgam and resin restorations: limited to one filling per 24 months per tooth surface. Multiple restorations on a single surface will be paid as a single filling. Does this mean that we can only get on ONE filling every 2 years…or does it mean we can get all our teeth filled..but only once every 2 years?? I’m really confused i don’t think it makes any sense to have just ONE filling every 2 years…

I live in Paulding County GA and have no dental insurance and a job that is just barely making the bills. Does anyone know of a free clinic that does dental work? I am desparate!

Or are they looked down upon? For example, if I get an online degree in computer science, will my degree be accepted by employers or will they reject me for not having a real degree?

My husband and I have worked at the same corporation for the past 11 years. Our health/dental insurance is in my name since I make slightly more than him. I am thinking of quitting since childcare is becoming unaffordable and it make more sense for me to stay home with our child. My concern is health insurance coverage. How long would it take for the insurance to transfer into my husband’s name? I don’t want to be without it in case anyone of us becomes sick. It would be hard for me to speak to someone in our Benefits department since a buzz would start with my question and I haven’t made any real decisions yet. Any information out there?
We can edit/change our insurance options in Novemeber for the next year. Would I have to wait that long to get our insurance in his name?

Just wondering how safe is professional tooth bleaching if you’re doing at home. What’s the best way to go about professional tooth bleaching?

I am currently a student at William Paterson university majoring in psychology. What would be some good respected schools to go to if I want to get a masters degree or higher? What would it take to get into these schools? Having them on the east coast is a plus.
