NOT a Dental Assistant, but a Dental Hygienist. I know Baylor has a 4 yr program, but the state will license you with a 2 yr porgram. I’m just having trouble finding a community college that teaches it.

Bad Breath?

Although no one has complained, I feel I have bad breath. I always have a bad taste in my mouth especially a while after I brush my teeth even! When I wake up in the morning is when I feel it the worst. (Or is it Worse?..lol) anyway, save yourself the “clean your teeth” speech. I do brush at least twice a day but religiously before I go to bed and after I wake up. What is it? What other remedies are there? I am tired of chewing gum 24/7.. I have not tried the tongue cleaning tools. I don’t want to eat lemon. My teeth are bad enough. Any home remedies? Anything I am not aware of? Surprise me! I’ve done it all. What is next? gargle Ajax? HELP

I want to learn illustrator, photoshop, dreamweaver and everything else in CS4.

Do you think it would be best to do it at my own pace online – was recommended to try Lynda.com … I have a Dell Inspiron.

Or

Should I register to courses at a reputable continuing education center, which has a computer lab of new 27 inch imac’s.

online – a lot cheaper
courses – better computer, live instruction etc.

I am applying for a job as a dental assistant and all I can think of is that I love health work relations but I need more reasons why and can’t think of any at the moment.

So what other reasons could I use that would make the boss want to employ me?

I haven’t had a cold sore in probably 20 years. But I woke up with one on the left side of my mouth on Sunday. Now it’s gone, but I just noticed another one on the other side. I know I cut myself with the dental floss last night, but don’t know if I did the other night. They’re not big or crusty or anything…I would almost think it was a zit if it wasn’t on my lip. I also use ACT mouthwash. Could it be the floss?

Dental School???

I am a junior and a very difficult private school and I have a 3.41 GPA. I am scheduled to take the DAT in April and I have tons of community service hours. I also did research at our university hospital (where the dental school is) on cancer biology and it was a blast. The question I have is one about my GPA. Is a 3.41 GPA way too low to be accepted into dental school or do you think I could get in somewhere? Thanks in advance for any info!!!

Scott
Thanks for all of your help!!!

Gum surgery…………..?

So, i had some of my gum around my back teeth removed 3 days ago. And the place where they removed it is very sore, and i can barely eat anything without it hurting. How can i eat without it hurting?

I recently had a dental abscess so I went to my dentist on Thursday, who performed a root canal, I was prescribed a small amount of amoxicillin to be taken afterwards. The pain has not subsided however, it’s still constantly there and I’m having to take a fair amount of painkillers each day along with using clove oil to try and stop the pain.

How long should it normally take to heal? Should I go back to the dentist first thing Monday? Any other advice?

and my porcelain crown was broken by the metal vibrating tool the dental hygenist using.

Hygenist told me probably it was an old porcelain crown..She said typically crowns dont break like that…I dont belive that crown was older than 3-4 years…

I have a dilemna here, if i did not get my tooth cleaned i was not going to get my crown broken.

Getting a new crown is going to cost me some money 00+ , 00 or so…

On the other hand dentist or hygenist cant be responsible for every teeth they are cleaning.

What is the common practice dentists follow for these types of situations.. can i expect them to fix my crown free of charge??
Should i share 50% 50%. I really did not need this expense right now…

Thanks for all the answers….
Heather: How do you know the crown was already cracked? Were you there? Are you God?

This question is bothering me because of an article I’ve read about harms of toothpaste.

I am searching for a way to find dentistry malpractice cases nationwide. Is there a database accessible by consumers and/or a fee based service I can join as a individual (not as a lawyer) and find similar cases?
