My daughter has her first molar coming in and today her gums started bleeding. She had not been chewing on anything when I saw the blood. It was not a lot of blood but enough that I noticed it. Has your toddler ever had bleeding gums when teething? This will be her 9th tooth, she has 4 on top and 4 on bottom is that alot of teeth for 15 months old?

So I am not sure what is happening to my gums, but my barbell from my tongue ring slides across my gums constantly, and I’m not sure if the bump that has appeared in that spot is due to gum recession, or could lead to it?

Can someone help me out? Details on gum recession, or maybe even a picture of what it looks like when it happens from this piercing?

My gums aren’t bleeding or swollen but I’ve noticed gum recession from about 6 weeks ago. I figured it was probably due to over-zealous brushing so I bought a Sonicare and am careful with the pressure I apply to it. I’ve also flossed religiously for over a year. Still, I’m wondering if an alcohol-free mouthwash might help me as well.

Which one do you recommend that will kill bacteria and not hurt my gums? I bought the Biotene but I heard the Crest brand is good as well.

Also, do you recommend gum stimulators? They seem like they would work but I don’t want to over do it and cause more recession.

PPS I thought flossing high up on the gums will irritate it, not help it

I have a gap in my teeth… but, I don’t really want to get braces. I’d like an alternative and I think invisalign might be the answer. Is there also a orthodontist that’s NOT in Memphis, that can do invisalign..well?

Im 25. Ive lived on my own since I was 18. I dont have a degree, but I do have over 2 years of college education and am planning to finish up in the Spring, and am looking into this now. I live in the city so I dont have a car, but I do have my own apartment (with a roommate) and a steady, moderate paying (about ,000 a year) job. Im definitely not the most career driven person (motivated by other things in life than success) but at the same time like to relatively have my act together and value work ethic, responsibility in others.

My boyfriend is a couple years older than me, and still lives with his parents. He doesnt have a steady job, doesnt have health/dental insurance, and is always broke. He only went to college for a year, and doesnt plan on ever finishing up. He mentions jobs he’d like, but doesnt raelly take any action to get more training (blames it on being broke) and isnt actively looking for a new job. when we go out, we usually split things and he never asks me for money, but occasionally Ill offer to pay for more expensive things and he doesnt argue. He also blows his money he does have and doesnt have any savings. Im suspicious hes getting $ from his parents as well.

My thing is this – I am for sure not a gold digger at all. and I know I have my own irresponsible tendencies – However- it concerns me that my boyfriend seems to have absolutely no ambition. Im getting older and dont know if I want to ‘waste’ my time with someone whos still not going to be ready to move out soon. Eventually Id like to get married, and would want to live with someone first….basically, Im ready to be a grown up and he just doesnt seem like he is yet. He does mention things like that he feels like Im too good for him bc I have a better job, and that he needs
to get a job and start getting things in order…but doesnt really take any action….

I do love him. He is very handsome, super sweet, funny, we get along great. But I just dont know whether I should continue or if his irresponsibility is a big red flag and I shouldnt waste my time? Weve been together about 6 months – so I dont know if I should wait it out and hope he starts getting his act together, or if I should cut it off now.

I was wondering if anyone had some tips for teeth grinding prevention. I have noticed recently that I have started grinding in my sleep and I wake up with a sore jaw and sore teeth. I have set up an appointment with the dentist but would like to know if there is anything I can do between now and then to prevent further damage to my teeth.

Real amazing endodontists are rare to find. Most of them say you will automatically need a crown after a root canal (of course, not only they get more money, but also they don’t need to be careful making only a small hole only in the middle of the tooth to remove the root; instead, they can go ahead and destroy the entire tooth area because they plan on using a crown anyways). I am looking for someone in the SF Bay area who is careful and understands that a crown is not always required; an endodontist who’s an artist in making a nice restoration over a tooth that got a root canal but didn’t need a crown. I am looking for an endodontist who believes and understands the importance of keeping as much of your real tooth structure as possible.
