I’m 37 years old and I’m very tired of my job (loan officer), is too much stress and is afecting my health. Dental hygienist will take 3 to 4 years and dental asisstant only 9 months. But I’ll be in the field while preparing for dektal hygienist.

I went to see the Dentist on a emergency about 9 months ago. I ask the dentist if they except the insurance I had which was Delta Dental and they said they sure did. I ask them if they were premier or advantage They told me the cheaper one which ever one that would be. To make a long story short they told me the insurance reimburstment takes a little time but I would have to go ahead and pay my copays and that is it! So after all is said and done and 800 dollars in hole I finally have my teeth fixed. So when the days is over the called me about 3 months ago and told me I still owe 180 dollars I was like what you guys told me I had payed everything I had owe! So I was like what ever I don’t have the money to pay you now, I will give you the credit card and I can pay your in about 2 weeks! Well I guess my card didn’t go through they called but I said I couldn’t pay them now, sorry So without calling me they billed my credit card for 180 2 months after I gave them the info is the legal?

About 9 months ago I went to new dentist for a routine checkup. He told me I had several "superficial" cavities on my enamel & began drilling away. He administered novocaine, but I still felt intense pain during the drilling. He kept giving me more novocaine (4 vials for one area) but I still felt everything he did. He insisted I couldn’t possibly be feeling anything & continued drilling. After 2 excruciating appointments, he had managed to painfully drill into every molar & wisdom tooth in my mouth. It should be noted that during this time I was a Medicaid recipient. About 5 months later, I noticed one of my composite fillings had fallen out. I went to another dentist & it was discovered that besides the one filling falling out, 2 more were leaking & as a result, deeper cavities had formed. I had them replaced with amalgam & I never felt a thing after this dentist administered the novocaine. The dentist also commented on how many fillings the last dentist had done. Now, 9 months after the fact, another filling from the first dentist has fallen out & I’m absolutely dreading having to keep getting these fillings replaced that are less than a year old. I suspect the first dentist may have filled teeth that were otherwise healthy to bill medicaid & he obviously did a lousy job administering novocaine/fillings. Should I report him? Take legal action?

I go to a community college in florida and I was told that at community colleges the waiting list is two years when you apply to the dental hygiene program, plus two years of training. However I spoke to someone who goes to sanford brown institute and she told me that the dental hygiene program is only 9 months to 1 year there and no waiting list. I’m working on my CDA right now. You think I should switch schools to become a hygienist?

The original root canal was done over 5 years ago. The crown fell off recently while eating pancakes. I was told that there was a cavity under the porcelain crown that runs under the gum line, about 9 months ago. Could that be why the crown fell off? How is that going to be fixed? Will I have to pay for another root canal and crown? Would they pull it? I don’t know cause there is one tooth missing right above it. Any ideas?

I just gave birth to my first little one on April 4 and I have to notify my insurance company to add her to my health insurance. My question is, should I worry about adding her to dental insurance right now?? I can change my benefits again in late December (she’ll be about 8 or 9 months)-can I just wait to add her until then you think? Thanks!
