I went to the orthodontist today and i told him that I was very unhappy with my teeth and he told me that I need to have braces for up to a year but if I took good care of them then I wouldn’t need them on long. I have delta dental insurance and they cover 1500.00 of my braces. The orthodontist said that it was a very minor and easy fix but I am getting prices like 3000.00 something I didn’t want to hear. I won’t exactly know how much they will cost until my insurance company gets back with them but I am impatient and I want to know how much they will cost. Will someone please help me out????

I had a Tooth Pulled about 5 years ago and it still hasn’t grown back in. I have Braces and a few months ago, the orthodontist said I’m going to need Lazer Gum Surgery. I HATE the Dentist. They have always hurt me and so, I am terrified. Will it hurt? And what will it be like after the Surgery? Thank You!
BTW, Will they numb it with a needle?
The surgery is just to remove some gum so the tooth can start to grow.

Hi! I’m getting my braces off next week and my orthodontist told me that if there was anything I wanted cosmetically done to my mouth I should tell him when he takes the braces off. I was just wondering.. I have a small smile and I just wanted to see if there was anything my orthodontist could do cosmetically to make my smile appear bigger? Answers are very much appreciated=]

Im fourteen I just got my braces off I got an xray back from my ortho that showed my wisdom teeth, the roots havent grown on them yet and they havent erupted yet. My orthodontist told me it may be easier to get them out if the roots havent grown yet. I live in Los Angeles and I have dental insurance. How much would it be to have all 4 of them extracted and to be put out the whole time while they are doing it?

I would like to know if veneers could be covered fully under dental insurance. I know veneers are usually not covered as they are primarily cosmetic, but because I am young and do not want to lose the tooth structure by getting porcelain crowns [root canals are done on teeth before getting crowns] I would really like to get veneers instead. I would have to have them maintained every decade or so, and because I’m only 18, I’m afraid to get crowns as they are MUCH harder to replace.
I have a genetic condition called Amelogenesis Imperfecta. I have had composite veneer on my teeth to give them enough surface area for orthodontic brackets, and I have had braces for a year and a half. My ortho brought up two teeth that never came in and has moved my teeth in proper placement for the veneers to now be done. I always assumed, even though it’s genetic and is not my fault, that my dental reconstruction would be at my expense.
I don’t have dental insurance right now, so I’m also curious if I could even get it now, being in the middle of my treatment of a genetic condition. Wouldn’t that be like a cancer patient applying for health insurance after they are diagnosed with cancer? Or is dental insurance different?

I have just had braces installed and we have bought different toothpaste than we normally do (Enamel Care by Arm and Hammer) and have bought fluoride mouthwash. I’m just wondering whether it is good to use the mouthwash straight after I brush my teeth cause it will wash away the good toothpaste protein or whatever it is that’s good. Should I try and just use the mouthwash after meals and use the toothpaste in morning and night? Thanks in advance.

My new dentist said that my bite was slightly mis-aligned and he referred me to an orthodontist. I had braces about 13 years ago and still wear my retainers at night. However, I didn’t really wear them 24 hours a day for the first six months after I got my braces off. My teeth are really straight, but my back teeth don’t touch when I bite down because the bone shifted. I’m anticipating hearing what the orthodontist is going to say and was wondering if anyone has any idea what he might do and how much it will cost?
