Continuing Education Classes for those in the Dental Profession

We live in Portland Oregon and I was wondering if anyone else doesnt have insurance what do they do about dental work? We do have a denatl school but Im not sure if they do a good job because she has been there before when she was little and they botched the job?
I haven’t had insurance Since I was 18. im 27 now. It really sucks. Im a stay at home Step mother ( well.. step girlfriend ).. and I have no income. My boyfriend has a really good job and he supports me. but we arent married so I cant be on his insurance.
Anyone have any info for me?
I am considering either The Art Institute Online or Westwood College Online. I really want to be able to get into the industry so that I can one day get a team together to make my own massive multiplayer RPG. I have some really great ideas that haven’t been thought of, and I just want to get my foot in the door. I figure getting a degree will get me a portfolio that I can take to a company and get hired on a game design team for whatever. Maybe that will get my foot in the door?
Has anyone here taken gotten a good job through one of these online game design courses? I really need online courses so that I can work while I go to school.
I know that only 2 yrs are needed for dental hygiene for an associates degree,but if i were to go to a university would that help me increase my chances of getting a good job or would it not matter and be simpler(& probably cheaper) to go to a 2 yr school?
Are there any dorms and stuff at 2 yr universities?would it really only take 2 years to become a hygienist?
I don’t have a good job and I don’t have a lot of money but I need dental care in San Francisco (or the Bay Area). I don’t think I’d qualify for dental insurance here because I have a preexisting condition but I am willing to pay out of pocket for my care. What is the cheapest dental school in my area (San Francisco Bay Area)?

I currently live in Nebraska, and my short term goal is to move back home to Washington state ASAP. I have a good job in Nebraska and economically it doesnt make sense to move cold like that. I want to continue my education. I work in the engineering field and would like to finish up my schooling to be a Civil-Engineer. Now my question is based. Is there a way I could enroll in school back home. And relocate home to do that (family situation Im kind of needed) so relocate back to WA and enroll in school, and collect unemployment. My room mate was laid off about 3 months ago, and he is qualified for unemployment through June 2011, because he says he is enrolled in School. Is this accurate, and is there a program, or how would I start the process of getting back home and continue shooling?
can i get a good job with dental assistant certification I? and how do i get certificate II?
and if full time- do they have health benefits, vision, dental, eye 401k?? I have a good job with all these benefits but, I feel I would truly enjoy this…
I am a US citizen taking online college classes and am looking for a job that would allow me to move around overseas, but would still allow me access to the internet on a regular basis in order to continue my education. Any ideas of a good job? Sadly I only speak english, and i know that doesnt help. Doesn’t have to pay well, just enough to put food on the table… and i guess enough to buy a table to put food on…
What do you honestly think of a guy becoming a dental assistant? I know it’s usually a female job but I’m a 22 year old guy and am thinking of becoming one? Do you think it’s a good job or not? What is the male to female ratio in dental assistants? 1 to 10? I’m afraid I might not be able to get hired and what people might think of me because it’s not a typical job for a man.
