She is a beautiful woman and needs 2 plates and her teeth pulled. Her self esteem has bottomed out and her health is suffering, including heart problems. She is in college, raising her kids alone and paying all her bills, but because the dentures are seen as cosmetic she can get no assistance. She can’t eat right, is sensitive to cold, has absesses and bleeding. If you can’t chew your food and have constant infections it has a physical effect on your health. Why are plates seen as cosmetic when Dr.s relate severe dental problems to heart disease? Where can she find help?
medicaid will only pay 439.00 each year for dental and will no cover any cosmetic proceedure. This is my daughter, and she works hard. She recieves assistance for her education and if she works she loses assistance. She has 2 kids that would need day care and can’t afford it. She is single and has no help from the father. Please, don’t think she isn’t trying, she has been doing everything she can. We live in a rural location and there are few resources. I hope none of you ever have to live with less.

what kind of oral surgery does medicare cover. I have rotten teeth that hold (for the time being two bridges which will have to go) and I need to get dentures. I can’t get the dentures until I save up some money, however, the teeth are causing me heart problems…just too much infection and I need to have them removed. I have no money

I’ve always had tooth decay since I was old enough to have teeth. Now that I am 41 yrs. old my heart specialist told me that I have PAC (premature atrial contraction) and mitral valve leakage. Upon examining my teeth, which I’ve had a few pulled and the others are rotting he said this is why you have heart problems. What does bad teeth and heart problems have in common?
