Can you really stop tooth decay from going further as mentioned in this article? 10 POINTS FOR BEST ANSWER!?
Before anyone gets upset, I do plan on going to the dentist. I actually have an appointment set up for March to start getting my work done so that I may, HOPEFULLY, get braces at the end of the year, and the only thing that kept me from going sooner was lack of insurance, which I now have through my employer and Delta Dental. Last time I went, which was last June, I was told I have 3 cavities on a couple of my molars and a small cavity on one of my top central incisors that need work, a broken filling in the back, and apparently a missing filling? A couple of years ago, I went to a local dentist and they caught a cavity on my first molar. I thought they filled it, but apparently, they only did a temporary filling. It’s never bothered me. No pain or anything until recently, I got an abscess by that tooth. I got antibiotics for it and it went away. Since then, I’ve kept sanitizing the area with antiseptic, then placing some of that temp filling you buy at the store. Just to keep it closed up a bit til I can get to the dentist. I don’t know how I ended up with so many cavities. I brush when I go to bed, again in the morning, I use mouthwash both times, and I floss at least 3 times a day. I don’t drink much milk because I don’t like it, but I have been taking Calcium and Vitamin D pills everyday and still…Cavities.
Well, what I want to know is, can you REALLY stop decay once it’s started like they said in this article? Or is a dentist the only one who can do it?
