I know that Endodontists perform root canals. But, do they also treat what the cause of the abscess initially was? For example if there was a tooth w/a very large cavity would they take care of the decay in the tooth?
My teeth grew in crooked. My mother didn’t really take me to a dentist until a dentist located in the mall who ended up loosing their license for malpractice! They performed 5 root canals (all botched) in 3 hours and never placed a single crown on. Did fillings that fell out, you name it. It’s years later, they haven’t been fixed (I’m in college and don’t have insurance). I’m tired of this. They’re cracked and crooked and brittle. What are my options? I hate to smile and always have, at this point I’m willing to make payment plans and it may be too late for braces. What about tooth replacement or private insurance? Any suggestions? I’m located in Ohio.
Hello, im hoping someone could help me. Im 19, a college student and live on my own so getting under my parents plan cant happen. Can anyone recommend a cheap dental insurance that would help me cover a root canal procedure?
Right now Im considering UNI-CARE 100 Discount Dental Plan, its only a year and covers root canals. Any other plans anyone happens to know about and willing to share would be appreciated!!
do Root canals hurt during procedure? never had one herd does not hurt during but a little sore after. Im very scared and to make matters worse i suffer from sever anxiety and panic attacks. please let me know what to expect. parents say nothing to worry about.
Hello, I am looking into purchasing discount dental insurance for 20 a month for me and my husband. Thing is we need ALOT done. He needs 3 root canals, deep cleaning and a few cavities, i need 6 cavities and a deep cleaning. We only have about 100 a week left over after bills and need to figure something out? Does anyone have any expierence with this? I went on the site and found dentists in my area and how much things cost if you go to that dentist w/ this plan, and things are pretty cheap, but how do i know thats real, and how do i ask for a "exam" and an estimate? is that possible to both go in and get the free exam and xrays for new patients and then ask for an estimate w/ this insurance and let them get back to me? i really have no clue how to go about this. We really need this stuff done.

I chipped ¼ of the tooth 3 times during adolescence the tooth was capped each time and caused absolutely no pain.
Age 17: For cosmetic reasons the 1st dentist decided to make a crown there was no damage to the tooth otherwise
From now on the tooth causes constant pain

Age 19: The crown was very painful from day one Dentist #2 redid the crown Root canal was performed Peridontist also performed gum surgery at this time. Pain continues
Age 20:Root canal performed by 3rd dentist puts on new crown made of different material,Pain continues.
Age 21:4th dentist decides to redo root canal because it was still infected. he left it open. I finally had relief that I hadn’t had since I was 17. painfree 6 months.Age 22 had weekly root canals for a month and a half. no help.
Age 25-still in constant pain thinking extraction only option. It is my front top tooth the gums surrounding the crown are grey.
HELP. What’s next
I hear from some root canals don’t hurt, but most of the time an endodontist is mentioned. I’m just going to a dentist. Should I see about an endodontist instead?
I’ve been to two dentists over a period of time. The first dentist I went to extracted six teeth because he "felt" it was needed I am now a 20 years old with no bottom teeth. Since I saw him for a few cavities after the "work" he did my mouth has been hell since I have had to see a dentist for cavities because he did fillings in between my teeth so i could not floss without taking out a chunk of my teeth. I was also mentally abused by him, I had told him it hurt when he had no given me enough novicaine and he told me to "shut up" I have since had numerous cavities and had to have root canals because of all the damage he has done, I have lost a tooth in the front that he filled. I feel gross because my appearance is altered by my mouth. I can’t even smile at people in my job which is sales because im too embarassed. All I want is a nice smile, I dont need super white teeth I just want to give someone a genuine smile again without feeling humiliated
Ok, so I’m going to have to have my very first tooth implant very soon(note, I’ll be 15 next month)
I am extremely nervous! I’m afraid it’s going to be more painful than losing the tooth, or the root canals(which weren’t severe pain) but any suggestions on how to calm myself down):
And what do you know about them? Do they numb your gums then pull the tooth out? I’m terrified! It’s my front left tooth btw.
I’m trying to get my teeth fixed this summer, but the dentist I’m going to will only do fillings and extractions. But, what if I need a root canal? I don’t want to get teeth pulled and look stupid. How long can I put off root canals and crowns? How many years? Can I wait that long? I have Medicaid, but it’s hard enough to find a dentist and both procedures are crazy expensive. I’m 16.
