Ive seen posts for people contempating the surgery here. I have been advised to have the surgery where they cut open your gums, scrape and sew them up (plainly speaking). I am having deep cleaning 4 times a year, but it seems that even tho I improve a bit, the dentists still like to make referrals to periodontists. They come up with estimates of 00 a quadrant. I would like to hear from actual gum surgery victims about this procedure which they say only helps 50% and lasts only a few years!

i havce braces and really swollen upper gums. it is not due to bad brushing tho, it just happened because of the braces. my orthodontist and dentist said that when i get my braces off i might have to have a surgery to reduce the gum size. has anyone ever had this done? does it hurt much or is it just a simple procedure?

i’m just wondering i’m in grade 9 and i have to get gum surgery. I was wondering, does it look weird when you get it done? and would i be able to go to school the next day because i have a unit test and will get 0 if i dont go? main question tho is if it looks weird when it’s done and how long it takes to get your gums/teeth to look normal again.

I had my right mandibular removed due to cancer in 2002. [did not smoke or drink]. I appealed the policy on dental implants and the medical review board for the company I work for over turned their denial in 2003. The company changed insurance companies in 2004. I got the run around and was finally allowed to appeal them. I was also sent a letter stating I could have this done in 2004. The insurance company still would not let the doctors do this procedure. Mainly reconstruction of my jaw and implants. The doctors coded properly and twice sent preauthorization with no responses. I finally was allowed a second appeal. I was given the forms and sent the appeal in. I have proof of delivery but the insurance company said they misplaced the package. Finally after 2 months they sent another denial letter also stating this was the end of the administrative process, which is not true, I am allowed a third appeal which I did and sent it in. I have not heard back yet. A rep from the insurance company and the company I work for are to look at the appeal. I am sure I will get the same response even tho I have proof of delivery. I am not finding any lawyers interested in this and I feel I have a good case, since the insurance company has mishandled this whole appeal. I would send all this information to the ceo but am afraid I would lose my job, even tho my work record is good. I also requested, twice now, copies of the whole appeal case, which I am allowed to do with no charge to me. This company is a big company world wide.

i need four extractions and 9 fillings! and i want to know what the best dental plan would be. Also, what is the difference between a dental plan and dental insurance?

my older sister christina is 21. shes in college. she just found out that she is pregnant with her boyfriend’s baby. they live in an apartment together and both go to college [shes going to be a teacher and hes going to be a doctor] they have been together since like 2001 i think….when they were freshman in highschool. well she plans to drop out after this semester and continue her education online. my mom flipped out and went nuts but christinas an adult, she has a job [shes had it since she was 16] her boyfriend ryan has a job he had since he waas like 16. his mom hates my sister and is super religious and she dosent think any girl is good 4 any of her sons and when ryan told her about my sister his mom flipped and said that child is a sin and the son of a slut [they dont even no the gender tho!] my parents dont even want to talk to christina and his parents are furious with him cause they think its going to ruin his future. she is supposed to graduate college next year and she dont plan on stopping school shes continuing college but online

what did she do that was so wrong
my sister didnt handle it well at first.
it took her about a month to take it all in and now we are going baby shopping tomorrow
and we went today too haha theres nothing they can do now, as they are both pro-choice and they dont want to give their baby away [i think part of it is they plan on having more when they are ready and they would feel bad giving one away idc its complicated ugh lol] and she really didnt look into things so much;shes going to start though lmao my sisters a procrastinator
