I had a root canal started know they say a piece of instrument is in canal is this normal?

Is the instrument suppose to be there? They want me to go to a root canal specialist. Is this necessary?

No, it is not a normal occurrence but can happen in a small percentage of root canals. You should go to the root canal specialist to have the tooth treated.
