Should I look into Dental Hygienist Program ?
I am finishing my BS in Health Care Administration at a University in NY. Would it be advisable for me to look into doing the 2 year degree to become a dental hygienist. The only reason I was looking into it was I am a very people oriented person. And I would like to have more patient contact in my everyday job. Would my BS in Health Care Admin. Help me at all with this degree or getting a job after completing DH degree? I would like the opinions of all but especially those of who are Dental Hygienist. Thank You !

Absolutly!!! I am a dental assistant fixing to start hygiene school. I love working in the dental field. Hygienist make pretty good money and they can pretty much set their own hours. I work in an office where we have 2 hygienists, one of them works Mon and Wed and the other one workds Tues and Thur. If you wanted to kind of see how their days is you could call your dentist or a local dentist where they live and tell them that your are interested in becoming a denal hygienist and ask them if you could come in one day want watch their hygienist. Im sure they wouldnt mind we always have people doing that.
